Please excuse the rawness of the audio — I had a Saturday morning accompaniment and didn’t make time for revisions. Thank you for being here, I hope you’re seeing glimmers of springtime emergence wherever you are, and that they inspire hope in you the way my children and passion projects have for me. Happy Spring!
Beginning with Endings
This is the end.
The end of the schoolyear and wintertime.
Closing out an Ice Age of Indifference.
The sickly sweet aroma of blissful ignorance is fading.
Idle waiting for the world to change is over.
The end of an era — while The Empire takes itself out at the knees.
While the masses stare, dumbfounded at the chaos.
Here we are in the middle.
Here we are, beginning again.
We’re beginning…
…to see glimmers of hope — The voices of local leaders and activists, gatherings of real life humans in real life spaces, loudly proclaiming enough.
We’ve begun The Great Reframing — revisiting old stories that indoctrinate young minds. Peeling away the shiny veneer of whitewashed history. Waking up to the painful truths festering beneath the facade of a place of opportunity and prosperity… a country of old men, united on the backs and shoulders of the underserved masses near and abroad.
We, the people, are relearning, growing, evolving, re-emerging — as a species, as a collective, as a community.
Our nation’s history, a communal wound, needs tending. Needs care. Needs attention. Needs nursing.
From The Murky Middle
As I watch this real-life unfolding of history as it’s written [hoping we’re not just gigantic scabies and bed bugs and aphids and mosquitos] I catch these glimmers.
I see the helpers step in. The voices of reason calling out the way forward.
It’s a quiet beckoning.
Listen. Can you hear the whisper of a re-evolution?
Humans humane. Caring, compassionate, considerate, societal, sincere, and soft.
The call — beckons a response.
Tough as nails, humans are softening.
It Starts
Soft humans can see the tantrum being thrown by old ideas. Caring humans hear the whining, shouting, throwing, fits of bigotry, dehumanization, and casteism.
Compassionate humans follow the spiraling tentacles of hatred and intolerance, knowing chokers cast tightly around the roots of our species’ family tree.
Societal creatures, communal creatures, loving, tender, abundant creatures.
We humans are stronger than their weapons. Louder than their bullying. And more tenacious than the dismantling of a rickety, antiquated, for-profit government.
We are the voices of the future. Our words matter. Our hopes, dreams, ideals.
Human Action
My actions now include:
Service on my Village Board of Trustees
Leading a team of schedulers in an ever-changing healthcare environment
Parenting and partnering with my household humans
Gardening indoors, outdoors, and in jars
Remaining curious about other people and their stories
Perpetuating the story of human hope and our collectively tenacious spirit

That’s all for now — Thank you for continuing to show up in any way you can.
Take good care.
Love,
Jessie
