I could talk about songs, albums, artists, and feelings in music nonstop. But sometimes I need to rest. And sometimes people around the world are resting when I’m awake. And sometimes they’re at shows and not able to talk when I’m ready.
What music is speaking to you right now? What would you like others to know about it? I’ll get us started in the comments, then please jump in! The water’s fine!
We may not have it all together, but together we can have it all (Wookiefoot). I love my benches!
Nahko and Medicine for the People - a band. Nahko - a person. We are not our vocation, but some of us identify as our vocation. Because it's blurry, messy, human stuff. Nahko spends himself sharing his human journey. And I am encouraged to do the same. Because it feels like the right thing to do. I am trying to do so unapologetically. "don't ask why" --- Kirby, Joe
Don't dismiss it because it's from a kid's movie. Kid movies take complex adult topics and simplify them for easy digestion. That's hard to do. Kid movies that do it well are pieces of art.
Marcel the Shell with Shoes On - the song Marcel sings, but when MARCEL sings it. Thank you for putting this medicine into the universe. And making it accessible. Thank you.
Do people who can't hear well, or at all, get to enjoy the beauty of these songs? The feeling they inspire in me, can they hear this through typing the lyrics? Do you feel the rhythm of music, even when you can't HEAR it? When someone is dying, hearing is the last thing to go. If we spend the rest of our lives distracted, not listening, if hearing is what's left, what sounds will we notice? What sounds is the planet noticing as we stomp around? Tread lightly. '
Make this collective voice ring. I am only you, you are only me. We are only one, we are only we. If I get the message wrong, I send apologies.
Please give me grace when I put my foot in my mouth. Please go easy on me. The internet is scary enough without you giving me a hard time for the fun of it. Just be fucking nice (JBFN).
Let the sun shine through. Let the wind be at your back. Let your love be true. Take it slow and make it last. Let your heart beat pure as gold. Let your road be paved with stories told. Let the light come through the window. Let it all come to you.
The Tedeschi Trucks Band from the East Coast of the US to Red Rocks .touring with Los Lobos....what can I say but they are quite possibly the best rock-soul-blues band on the planet right now.
Tedeschi Trucks Band’s “I Am The Moon” is a four album rock ‘n’ roll event. Inspired by classical literature and driven by the isolation and mourning of the pandemic era, “I Am The Moon” features 24 original tracks and more than two hours of music.
I think I remember seeing Susan Tedeschi at blues fest in Chicago several many years ago. Excellent, and thanks for chiming in! My cup needed some human interaction!
Wow I love this bench!! I would sit here and then I would listen to Rimsky-Korsakov's 'Le Coq d'Or' such a wonderful piece to inspire writing action scenes!
Wookiefoot - again and again. But specifically: the song All Together from the album Be Fearless and Play.
"Look around, we're all right here! It just proves we're not all there.
We may not have it all together, but together we can have it all! "
Does anyone want to talk about the band Wookiefoot?

Trevor Hall -- In and Through the Body
Will Evans - seeing him live and watching him layer music together felt very special.

Made for This - Satsang
Blessed to take each breath. Blessed to feel alive. I know one thing, that I was made for this.
I. was made. for THIS.

Follow the Sun - Xavier Rudd
Budding Trees - Nahko and Medicine for the People
In the moon of the budding trees
I was gifted new eyes to see....
Wake the dreams into realities.
The language of no words is how we speak.
Feels like hunger and it tastes like salt.
Heal my brain and my body, too.
Balance my chemistry, hydrate these cells.
The body talks, and meditation helps.
